I did this piece during a period of great change in my career as a sculptor. Gallery relationships were ending and beginning. The art world is full of change. Careers are periodically precarious. I was drawn to sculpt a figure outside the mainstream looking down at the world of flux and movement, symbolizing a type of durability and endurance in the midst of change.
